About App.Deals
Software keeps getting more useful, and more expensive. Subscriptions multiply, prices rise at renewal, and "70% off" banners are often measured against prices nobody pays. App.Deals exists to cut through that.
What we do
We research the legitimate ways to pay less for apps and software, and explain them plainly:
- Deals & perks: programmes for students, educators, startups and nonprofits, plus free tiers, family sharing, bundles and free library apps, each with eligibility and steps to claim.
- Free alternatives: free and open-source replacements for popular paid apps.
- Sale calendar: when software and games are usually cheapest.
- Calculators: tools that replace percentages with real numbers.
- Guides: how to spot fake discounts, cancel subscriptions, get refunds and claim perks.
What we don't do
We don't sell software, resell keys or collect payments for third-party products. When you claim a perk or buy a product, you do it directly with the provider on their official site. We don't list unauthorised resellers or pirated software.
How App.Deals is funded
The site is free to use. It is funded by display advertising served by Google AdSense, clearly labelled sponsored placements from software makers, and voluntary reader support. None of these buy editorial decisions; our editorial policy explains the rules.
Who we are
App.Deals is run by a small independent team of researchers and writers, with contributors who test tools and verify programmes. We're always looking for detail-obsessed people to join the deal desk.
