How we research and list deals
Our job is to help readers spend less on software they actually need. These rules keep that job honest.
What qualifies for a listing
- The offer or programme is run by the software provider or an authorised partner.
- It saves money against a real, published regular price, or it is genuinely free.
- Eligibility and key terms can be stated clearly.
- It is legal and within the provider's own terms. We don't list pirated software, unofficial keys or methods that break terms of service.
How we research
Every listing is written from the provider's official pages. We summarise who qualifies, the steps to claim and the catches (renewal prices, usage limits, expiry). Where amounts change often, such as credit values, we describe the benefit rather than quote a figure that could go stale. Each listing shows the month it was listed or last reviewed.
Keeping listings current
Programmes change. We review listings regularly and act on reader reports. If you find an outdated listing, use the report form on the deals page or our contact page. We aim to review reports within a few business days.
Guides and tools
Guides are written to be useful years from now: they explain how things work and point to official sources for current details. Calculators use transparent formulas, described on each tool page. We never alter a tool's output for a sponsor.
Advertising and sponsorship
- Display ads are served by Google AdSense. We don't choose individual ads, and ads are not endorsements.
- Sponsored placements are labelled Sponsored and their links carry
rel="sponsored". - Sponsors cannot pay for a listing to be included in editorial picks, for changes to editorial copy, or for positive coverage.
- If we ever use affiliate links, they will be disclosed on the page where they appear.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and, for significant errors, note the correction on the page. Send corrections through the contact page.
Use of trademarks
We name products only to identify them. Names and logos belong to their owners; see our trademark notice.
